MovieWorld

Gran and us.  Ready for another action packed day.
Sophie:  We walked in and headed for the looney tunes kids area. We went on the family rollercoaster and it was alot of fun because you would go up up up really slowly and then woosh down.  Then we went on the tweety cages and the taxis. After that we approached the Scooby Doo Spooker Coaster. After a long wait we sat in a goblin shaped carriage and zoomed through. Gran was squeezing my hand so tight I thought it would break. At one point we just stopped.  Then we wooshed backwards down a giant hill.  We also  saw some awesome shows.  We saw a stunt car show.  My favourite bit was when the cars balanced on their two side wheels.  We also saw a Batman show.  I saw the Scarecrow which I was very excited about.  Because the Scarecrows my favourite villain on batman.

Speaking of Batman we went on the batman ride.  It went 5,4,3,2,1, and then shot up super high and then dropped down.  We did a bit of up/down up/down and then hopped off. I thought it was really awesome.  And I thought I might have to go back and get my stomach.

When my heartbeat had returned to normal we went to the log flume.  I was the best one we went on this trip!  The whole way I was saying "Indiana Jones moment, indiana jones moment".   We had to re-do it three times and by the end we were sopping!

It was an awesome day and Dad said we might be able to come back tomorrow.

Brianna:

We rushed into Movie World, and straight away I saw Tweety Bird, so I ran up and gave him a hug.  Then I had my photo taken with him, and then with Marvin the Martian, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and Bugs Bunny's crazy girlfriend.

The first ride we went on was the jumping thing -- like a mini Fear Fall.  Then we went on the family roller coaster - which was really fun because it went super fast and had a fast eeeeeekk. stop.  The other fun thing was that all of us could go on it - even Carter and Gran.

We saw a Batman show and it had Batman in his batmobile.  He fought criminals and stopped an evil invention.  Then we saw a stunt car show.  There was three cars - 2 cop cars and one racing car, and a random motorbike that kept randomly appearing.  At one point the cars went up a ramp and were driving on two side wheels.  It was crazy!

Then we rushed over to the log flume.  It was so much fun - the logs could fit 8 people which meant me and my family could all go together.  You would go down a long river, up a hill, turn on a turntable and go zooming backwards really really fast.  Then go through a village and a western town, then up the final hill, spin on the spin table, turn to face the door then go zooming down a steep hill this steep \

The day was fantastic (and I got to buy some cool stuff from the gift shop)

Introducing...Carter, the greaaaaaat !

Carter:
I like my Harry Potter wand I bought at the Harry Potter store.  I got to go on a roller coaster and it went so so so so so fast!  We controlled the taxis by ourself and it was fun.  I steered very well.  The log flume got us really really really wet.

That's All Folks

Dreamworld

Sophie: We started by going to the Madagascar section.  We went on a roller coaster, a merry go round where you lay on your tummy and flew around, and and a puss in boots ride were you sat on seats and got flung around at fantastic speeds.  Next was the Shrek section, we got our photo taken with Shrek and Fiona and we went on a few rides like the shrek go round and the dragon rider and the Avalanche.

Then we went on a cool ride where you would sit in a cage and go around like a giant ferris wheel except that instead of horizontal, it went vertical - so we were completely upside down.

After that I decided to face my fear and approach the CLAW.  We strapped into seats on a claw shaped circle.  Then the floor dropped away, and we started spinning then swinging higher and higher until we were almost upside down.  It gave me a really funny feeling in my tummy when we went down, I stumbled out, I was a bit dizzy at first, but I loved it, and went on it four times.

We did alot of other things like going on the log flume four times, having lunch and fending off hungry birds etc etc.  In a nutshell this day was the best ever (until tomorrow).

Brianna:  You know what I'm gonna say right?  Yep, we got up SUPER early again.  We got dressed, slipped on our shoes and jumped in the fearcepooks-mobile and headed off to Dreamworld.  The weather was quite good at first but then it got quite bad and started raining alot.  We were getting wet, but we didn't care.

First we went to a place called Madagascar which had lots of cool rides that everyone in the family could enjoy.  We got a photo with Shrek, Fiona, Po and the Madagascar characters.  Then me and Sophie ran to a ride where hooked you in a cage and spun you upside down.

We were walking past to look at some rides and there we saw the cutest tiger cub going for a walk.   Just before we saw the tiger cub we went to see BIG tigers in the tiger show.  And we saw the two little baby tiger cubs.  We donated a few dollars to help keep them alive.  The trainer in the baby cubs enclosure saw us put some money in so she used our camera to take photos up close of the tiger clubs.

The log flume was really fun, at the end on the steep hill you would get a gust of excitement then go zooming down the steep hill and get drenched  with water.  Overall the day was AWESOME!

Carter:  I liked the place where we got to shoot balls out of the guns.  I shot people and it was fun.  I liked the one where you hung underneath the rail and it went really fast.  I was excited when I found out I could go in the one where it spun upside down. I went in with dad and it was fun.  I also like the gingerbread one where you lie down and spin around like your flying.

Byron Bay

Brianna: Today we got up very early - aaagaaain.  We jumped into the car and headed to Byron Bay to see my cousin Sundara and great Aunt Mary, as well as Moms friend Susan.  When we got there we got hot chips.  We walked over to the park, played on the playground for a while and then got to go and play in the sand.

We made a mermaid tail for Sophie (I did it myself and I thought it was extraordinary).  Then Mom came down to take some photos and said we could go in the water even though Michael had told us not to (makes for better photo's apparently - Ed).  And then I caught a wave and went flying down towards Mom who was back on the shore.  Finally we got some fish and chips and went up to the lighthouse to eat them, before driving back home (and again fell asleep in the car).

Thank you Winston for the note -we haven't been to Pizza Hutt but we'd like to try.

Carter:I liked getting wet in the waves.  I liked running in the sand.  I liked making the sand into mist (i.e. throwing sand into the wind).  Chasing the birdies was fun.

Sophie:  This morning Carleen dragged us out of bed early as we were just getting used to sleeping in late.  We grabbed our pre-packed bags and set off for Byron Bay.  It was a long drive and we played I Spy.  We had snacks and when we got there we met Carleen's cousin and aunt at the cafe.  We had delicious lemonade, chips and wedges.  Then we went down to the beach.  We made made sand turtles, and we made each other into mermaids.  Then we went body surfing.  It was lots of fun, and then we brought some fish and chips to the lighthouse and had a picnic.  I had delicious fish bites and yummy chips.  We all fell asleep in the car on the way home and were worn out by the time we got back.

Wet n Wild!

Sophie: We started in the wave pool.  The waves were very big and me and Brianna were tossed around like corks on the ocean.  Then we went to kids pirates bay. It was really awesome and my favourite bit was the big hollow pirates head up the top.  It would fill with water, and then, tip with an almighty crash, drenching everybody.  Next we went on the aqua race because Carter wanted to go on it.  I grabbed my foam mat and scurried up to the top.  3,2,1...pffft  the lifeguard blew the whistle and we were off.  It was very bumpy and at the end I felt dazed!

The green slides were really cool because you could choose to go down an enclosed slide or an open slide. I went on the open slide first then I went back and did the enclosed slide.

My favourite slide, was the tornado!  You would get an inflatable donut with four seats and heave it up the flights of stairs, put it in the water, sit in it and go WOOOSHing down. You would go for a little bit, and then there was a giant drop.  Dad was faced backwards and screamed like a little girl (no offence to girls) (true story.  Although lets say a pretty staunch little girl - Ed.)

We got extremely wet and definately wild.

Carter: I liked the green bumpy slides (aqua race) because they were bumpy and fast.  I liked the orange slide at the pirates bay because it was twisty and turny and it had sprinklers in it that got us wet.  I left early with gran and I liked Hungry Jacks and my blue drink.

Brianna:  Today the kids got up freakishly early (again) and we got straight in to our togs and got ready to go. But then the adults said there's one more hour til we go :-(.
When we got to Wet n Wild Carter said "whoah, look there's a pool"! which we thought was cute and funny.

The first ride we did was called the Aqua Race where you got your own mat climbed up the torturing stairs, and when you got to the top you would put your mat in the water hold onto the handles then the whistle would go and you would lie on your belly and go down the slide. When we went down the bumps, water kept splashing in my eyes.  It was really fun.  At the end of the ride my mat and me went flying in the air.

After that we sprinted off to the green slides and went wooshing down in about 20 seconds.  Then we walked over to the tornado.  We got a rubber floating ring and it could fit four. So me, Mom, Michael and Sophie went on.  It was soo fun because we would spin around then go down a really steep hill and WOOSH down.  Then you would go splashing round in a big giant funnel, then go through a hole to the end.  It felt so scarool (scary/cool).

We were soooo tired at the end of the day after running around to get to the slides and running up all the long flights of stairs.

Note from the big kids:  Wet'n'Wild was fantastic!  Michael was the only one brave enough to take on the Aqua Loop -- with the rest of us quite happy to watch from the safety of solid ground.  The tornado was a total blast -- a full-on thrill ride that the family could all do together, on a single raft.  After our first (of many) rides, Michael was heard to say, "What just happened to me?"  He was the poor sucker who went backwards down the ridiculously steep drop into the funnel.  Carleen was reluctantly excited to try the Surf Rider which turned out to be an (expletive filled) blast.

Rest Day

Carter: I went swimming and it was cooold. We saw some koala's and they were so cute.
And I liked the food I had at the sushi train (I liked pudding).

Brianna: Today we got up ridiculously early and then we were playing in our room and the adults got really ticked off and came into our room and said be quiet. Michael had to take us down to the lounge and put on the tv and then we got a hot cocoa.  We went swimming and Mummy was taking some photo's of us.  And we were acting all sunbathy for the photos.  It was really fun because mum had us jump into the pool and spread out like we were doing star jumps so we got some pretty cool photo's.
Then we went out to lunch to sushi train.  When we went in we sat down in front of a conveyer belt with yummy sushi and you just grabbed whatever you wanted.  There was pudding and jelly and it was really yummy.  And when the chefs got new food they had just made and put it out on the conveyer they went "Woooo" and say these weird japanese words.

Me and Sophie were so full after sushi train we fell asleep in the car on the way to see the Koalas.  When we got to the Koala place I spotted a kookabara in the tree.  I like their patterns, they're very pretty and kind of look like Kingfishers.  And then we walked into the koala sancturary and we saw three Koalas.  They were really cute and fuzzy and moved from one tree to another and kept grabbing branches to eat and it looked like it was going to fall off.

Sophie: We bounded out of bed of the crack of dawn and had some delicious milo and scrambled eggs.  Then we sped over to the pool.  It was lots of fun splashing and sunbathing with Brianna.  Then Carleen did a photo shoot with us.  And Bri was slightly posy (almost as much as Sophie - Ed.).  Afterwards we went to Sushi Train.  I didn't think I was going to like it because I don't like sushi.  But I managed to find something delictable.  And for dessert I had light fluffy chocolate mousse.

Feeling very full and tired, we drove down to Daisy Hill Koala sanctuary.  Me and Bri fell asleep in the car, and had to be woken up.  Sadly Dad did not take directions from our loving step mother and got us lost again (hang on - I was following Gran! - Ed.) When we finally enetered the kola santuary, the only way to describe my feelings would be...supercalifragilisticexpealadocious.

I did a quiz on koalas and I got 4 out of 5.  We saw the koala eating and it was cute because it would reach it's tiny arm out and grab the branch.  And I liked it could lean forward so far without falling off.  We drove home and had a relaxing night updating the blog.

Sea World

Sophie: We rushed into Sea World and immediately went to the penguins. They were soo cute but they had bright yellow pee!  We had a race with the boys on the sea climber and the boys think they won (dominating showing by the boys - Ed.)  We queued for ages in front of the dump truck ride and then we gave up and went to Jet Rescue - which was soooo awesome!!  The flume ride was shorter than the log flume at rainbows end but the last slide was very steep so it gave us a funny feeling in our tummys.  We saw lots of different shows like the Fish Dectives and the Dolphin show, and the we took the Gondolas back to the entrance.  And I bought the cutest penguin soft toy at the gift shop.  By the end of the day I was so worn out I could hardly finish my ice cream!

Carter giggled and giggled and giggled at the Fish Detectives!
Carter: We went on this really cool jet plane ride.  And we could go up or down.  The sea lion show was really really funny and I giggled the whole time - the bad guy was up there the whole time and they didn't know it.  I liked the food I had.  I like the penguins and the dolphins. I was tired at the end of the day.

Brianna:When we arrived at Sea World I went straight to the gift shop and the adults had to pull me out.  Then we went to the penguin encounter and I really liked it.  But I didn't like seeing all the penguin pee spots.  There was a penguin pushed up right against the glass and I think he was trying to get out.  My two favourite rides was the flume and the jet rescue.  The jet rescue went really fast and it was really exciting and when it turned the corners my head was about 7cm away from the rocks and the water.  It felt like I was about to fall out.  It felt so thrilling.
On the flume it went up a really big hill, and the lady would say "are you ready to get wet" and then "goodbye" as we wooshed down the hill and got wet.
I adored the dolphin show so much that when they called for volunteers I jumped on the seat and shouted "me ME ME" but sadly I didn't get chosen.  When I grow up I want to be a dolphin trainer.
When we were heading back we were all the way over the other end so we caught a gondola because it would be really cool to see underneath us and because we were so pooped.  And then we bought some cute stuffed animals from the gift shop.

With the jet ski stars.  Brianna says she will never wash her hands again.

Travel Day

Brianna:  In the morning, at 5.30am, we all sprung out of bed to get ready for our exciting day.  In the Koru Lounge we had some really yummy hot croissants and hot cocoa.  On the plane, we watched movies as soon as we sat in our seats.  There were really cool movies and they gave us some really cheesy pizza and juice!
When we got off the plane I was excited to be in Australia and it smelt like a different country.  When we were in the car driving to our gran's house we noticed the gravel on the road was a different colour and the trees had lighter leaves than in NZ.  Australian money smells and looks different to NZ money.  It took us a little while to get to Grans' because Michael trusted his GPS in finding the way there and we got lost for about 10 minutes which he blamed on mum and the GPS.  But we know better (that is a *gross* exaggeration - Ed.)  At least we found out there was a Hungry Jacks here (a.k.a. Burger King in NZ).
When we got here we were greeted by one very excited Gran.
We found out that gecko's poo on the window sill.

Sophie:  At 5.30am we bounded out of bed like a Kangaroo.  At the airport I had jitters in my stomach because I was extremely excited about going to see Gran in Australia.  The Koru lounge was awesome.  We had delicious croissants and milo.  And I invented a yummy drink - L&P and Ginger Ale - it's yummy.  On board the plane I was leaning back in my seat because of the speed we were taking off.  I watched Fantastic Mr Fox and ate delicious cheesy pizza and yummy tropical juice.  It was really awesome to look out the window and see all the clouds beneath us.
We were greated by hugs and kisses from Gran.

Carter:  On the airplane I watched a movie and I liked the pizza I had.  I was excited to see gran for the first time.  My bed at Gran's is comfy.  The pool at grans was cold and awesome.
